23rd CYPRUS FILM DAYSInternational Festival4-12 April 2025CALL FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS The Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus and the Rialto Theatre launch a call for submissions of feature films in the two Competition Sections of “Cyprus Film Days”, the official international film festival of Cyprus. The Festival aims at broadening its horizons beyond the geographical boundaries of Cyprus, as well as at attracting international film industry professionals and audiences, thus turning Cyprus into a meeting hub for the three neighbouring continents. The 23rd edition of Cyprus Film Days IFF will take place between 4-12 April 2025 both in Nicosia and Limassol.The feature films to be submitted must be 2023 or 2024 or 2025 productions. You may submit your film via www.filmfreeway.com/cyprusfilmdays until 31/12/2024. The CFD Awards Ceremony amidst a celebratory atmosphere

The films 78 DAYS by Emilija Gašić from Serbia and EMBRYO LARVA BUTTERFLY by Kyros Papavassiliou garnered the Best Film Awards of Cyprus Film Days in the International and National Competition sections respectively. The festival wrapped up on Saturday 20 April at the Rialto Theatre, where the Audience Award, the international competition section awards and the Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days awards were announced and presented to the winners. The curtain drew on the 22nd CFD with a screening of Adonis Florides’ AFRICA STAR, followed by the closing and awards ceremony, curated by Lia Haraki and presented by visual artist PASHIAS. EMBRYO LARVA BUTTERFLY by Kyros Papavassiliou also received the Best Cypriot Director Award in the national competition section, while Cypriot actress Marina Makris received the Best Performance Award for her role in AFRICA STAR by Adonis Florides. A celebratory awards ceremony marks the end of Cyprus Film Days

The eagerly anticipated closing ceremony of the 22nd Cyprus Film Days International Festival caps a week filled with cinema, creative exchanges, and strong emotions. The ceremony will take place on Saturday 20 April at Rialto Theatre.  This edition wraps up with the screening at 20:00 of the new film by acclaimed Cypriot director Adonis Florides, Africa Star. The film focuses on the lives of three generations of Cypriot women –mother, daughter, granddaughter– whose lives are tragically affected by the act of a man succumbing to temptation. The screening will be followed by the closing ceremony, curated by Lia Haraki, along with the presentation of the festival’s highest honours. Music and sound design for the ceremony are by Yiannis Christofides with lighting design by Alexander Jotovic. Performance artist PASHIAS will be the presenter of the awards ceremony. The eagerly anticipated festival kicks off with a bang, courtesy of Lia Haraki

The Cypriot interdisciplinary performance artist Lia Haraki is at the helm of the opening ceremony, as the Cyprus Film Days International Festival launches its 22nd edition.  Together with a dream team of artists, Lia Haraki will immerse the audience into the festival’s spirit by exploring the process of independent creativity in a unique multimedia show. The Deputy Minister of Culture, Vasiliki Kassianidou, will officially declare open the festival on Friday 12 April at 20:00 pm at the Rialto Theatre. THE 5TH DOT.ON.THE.MAP INDUSTRY DAYS ANNOUNCES THE PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

Dot.on.the.Map Ιndustry Days, the co-production, training and networking platform for film industry professionals of the 22nd Cyprus Film Days IF, will hold its 5th edition in Limassol, Cyprus (18 – 20 April, 2024). Τhe CFD IF is an institutional event of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture, organised by the Department of Contemporary Culture in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre. Workshops for professionals, cinephiles and children

The 22nd edition of Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2024 puts the accent on training through a fascinating lineup of parallel events. In addition to special screenings programmed in supplement to the three main sections, the festival steps up a gear with a series of workshops and masterclasses as follows:  AI AND PHYSICAL MOVEMENT IN FILM DEVELOPMENT: TRAINING SESSIONS FOR THE INQUISITIVE MINDS A custom programme of audiovisual literacy –and then some– has been put together for scriptwriters, producers and anyone with an interest in movement for film. This edition’s training platform includes a hands-on workshop by experts on how to use Artificial Intelligence in developing film projects and a masterclass exploring aspects of storytelling through physical movement in film.
