Cyprus Film Commission – Invest Cyprus Award

“For showing us the dilemma of freeing oneself from a dysfunctional relationship. An intense love story in the shape of an Alexandrian set mumblecore. The Cyprus Film Commission – Invest Cyprus Award goes to THE SEA WAS ONCE BLUE, to be directed by Mohamad El-Hadidi and produced by Mohamad El-Hadidi, Julian Moser from Egypt.”

The award is accompanied by the monetary prize of €1,000.

Best Debut Project Pitch

“For a character-driven story exploring not only gender identity but also an intergenerational idea of time and life, tradition, sexuality, love and grief. The Best Debut Project Pitch Award goes to the director Ary Zara, for SUN IN SATURN from Portugal, produced by Andreia Nunes.” The award is accompanied
by the monetary prize of €500 offered by the Directors Guild of Cyprus to the director of a debut feature length fiction film project.

Agora Networking Award

“The portrait of a young girl reclaiming her lost childhood whilst preparing for motherhood. A project celebrating life but set in a cemetery. With the AGORA Networking Award the jury would like to support Claudia Canfora for MOTHER TONGUE to be directed by Caterina Biasiucci, a project from Italy.”
The award is offered by Thessaloniki International Film Festival (31/10–10/11/2024) to the producer and it includes 4 nights’ accommodation in Thessaloniki & a free Agora market accreditation.

Coprocity Development Award

Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days announces its partnership with Coprocity – an online platform meant to offer more visibility to curated projects after their presentation in co-production markets by facilitating discussions between professionals and decision-makers, extending contacts, and sharing information to make the project’s development and financing easier. All the projects participating in the Dot.on.the.Map Co-production Forum will be pre-selected to participate in the Coprocity Development Award of €3,500, offered in partnership with Cineuropa.
