Welcome Notes by Dr Elena Christodoulidou (Head of Cyprus Cinema Office, Deputy Ministry of Culture), Danae Stylianou (Head of Dot.on.the.Μap Industry Days) and Argyro Nicolaou (on behalf of the CFD Artistic Directors)

Ten teams of producers - directors with projects originating from countries of the Mediterranean region will pitch their feature length fiction film projects within the Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point co-production forum, to representatives of the international film industry. The Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point co-production forum is implemented in partnership with Agora, Thessaloniki International Film Festival. The pitching session will be moderated by film development expert and trainer Marjorie Bendeck.

Presented by Peter D. Todorov, Executive Director, Executive Agency, Bulgarian National Film Centre

Join Executive Director Peter D. Todorov to find out more about opportunities for international co-production supported by the Bulgarian National Film Centre. In addition to detailing eligibility criteria and process for international co-production applications, an overview of the available funding opportunities and tax credit incentives will be presented.

15:45 PANEL DISCUSSION Screenwriting training labs: an essential step in the creative process

This panel will showcase three of the most prominent European screenwriting labs designed to help filmmakers advance their film projects and scripts. Keynote speakers will discuss the pivotal role of labs in the development and scriptwriting process, provide insights on selection criteria, and discuss how this training and feedback can be organically implemented in the collaborative creative process.

10:00 PANEL DISCUSSION Book-to-Screen: Best practices for Literary Film Adaptations

Organised in partnership with Frankfurter Buchmesse, this panel will bring together leading producers and an acclaimed screenwriter to discuss best practices and success stories in literary film adaptations. Speakers will share their personal book-to-screen experiences and discuss the creative opportunities and challenges involved in adapting literature for cinema.

Presented by Matthijs Wouter Knol, CEO and Director, European Film Academy

Time has never been as much in favour for the European Film Academy as now: European audiences are discovering an interest in European culture, and there’s a momentum for European cinema. With a history of almost 39 years, the European Film Academy has built up a network of partners and is involved in many elements of European film culture. How can we build a better infrastructure for European cinema in the upcoming decade that works for everybody who loves and works in European film?
