
Danae Stylianou
Danae Stylianou is a Cyprus-based documentary producer and director and a graduate of the University of Westminster (BA Hons Film Production, 2004). Her filmography includes numerous short documentaries, and 4 documentary features: Skammata (2024), Birth Days (2018), A Haircut Story (2014) and Sharing an island (2011), praised for their humanity, narrative depth, and social relevance. Her films have screened at international film festivals, distributed on streaming platforms and broadcast on television. Alongside her documentary work on commissioned projects for various esteemed organisations (NGOs, cultural institutions and governmental bodies), Danae focuses on developing and producing independent documentary projects with a strong focus on cultural heritage. She worked for more than 15 years as a casting director for cinema and television in Greece and Cyprus. Ιn 2012, she joined the organising team of the three major, state-funded film festivals of Cyprus -Cyprus Film Days IF (2012-), Lemesos International Documentary Festival (2012-2025) and the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (2011 – 2021). In 2020, she was appointed head of Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days – the industry platform of Cyprus Film Days IF- which she produces and curates. Danae is a member of the European Film Academy and a member of the Directors Guild of Cyprus.
