Τhis public masterclass offers a rare opportunity to explore the full journey of image creation—from cinematography to final color grading—with Athens-based colorist Manthos Sardis. Drawing on his experience from post-production work on significant films and collaborations with acclaimed cinematographers, Sardis will discuss how decisions made on set shape the grading process, and how a colorist’s perspective can transform the cinematic intent of an image.

Through selected case studies, the masterclass will examine visual storytelling, lighting, camera choices, and the collaborative relationship between the director of photography and the colorist. The session is designed for filmmakers, cinematographers, editors, and anyone interested in the craft behind the cinematic image.

Prior to the masterclass, an exclusive hands-on color grading workshop will take place for a limited number of participants at the post-production facilities of Copper Island, offering practical insight into professional grading workflows, tools, and techniques.

Manthos Sardis is a passionate colourist whose work spans feature films, commercials and episodic productions. With over 20 years of experience in post-production, he brings a strong sense of visual storytelling and a deep understanding of color as an emotional and narrative tool. His craft has received international recognition, including receiving the Best Colour in Commercial (2021) award from the Independent Colourist Awards. The films he has contributed to have achieved significant global acclaim, most notably the short film I Am Glad You Are Dead Now, which was awarded the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Blending artistic sensitivity with technical precision, Manthos collaborates closely with directors and cinematographers to shape distinctive visual identities and create images that resonate with audiences worldwide.
