For the third consecutive year, the Pan-Cyprian Short Film Competition is being organized, aiming to promote creative expression, film education, and the active participation of children and young people in cinema.
Following last year’s highly successful event, which culminated in the awards ceremony held at the K Cineplex Prime cinemas, with the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, the Mayor of Nicosia, and other officials presenting the awards to the children, the Competition returns for its third edition.
The participants were evaluated by a Jury composed of professionals from the film industry, with actress Agni Scott as President and members Smaro Papaevangelou, Kleitos Kleitou, Marios Ioannou, Panagiotis Margetis, Prokopis Agathokleous, Dimitra Barla, Giannis Sakaris, and Menos Deliotzakis.
At the awards ceremony, prizes included film equipment, cash awards, cinema tickets, film education programs, as well as screenings of the films at K Cineplex cinemas across Cyprus, effectively providing incentives and valuable experiences to the participants.

The competition is addressed again to primary, secondary and higher education students. Students can work in groups, creating their own short film.
The theme of this year’s competition is “Brave stories of Everyday Life”. These are our own stories or those of people in our environment, which teach morality, solidarity, mental strength, love, ways to overcome everyday problems and give us the strength to speak, act and show who we are. They help us face challenges and believe in ourselves. It’s the stories we share and the ones we choose to hear. Through them we shape our future and find the strength to change it.
