Άδωνις Φλωρίδης, Σκηνοθέτης
Σκηνοθέτης στον κινηματογράφο και το θέατρο, θεατρικός συγγραφέας και σεναριογράφος. Ζει και εργάζεται στη Λεμεσό. Έχει γράψει το σενάριο και συν-σκηνοθετήσει τις ταινίες «Kalabush» και «Εspresso» οι οποίες έχουν προβληθεί σε πολλές χώρες του κόσμου και έχουν βραβευθεί και τύχει διαφόρων διακρίσεων σε διεθνή φεστιβάλ. Έχει επίσης σκηνοθετήσει αριθμό ντοκμαντέρ.
Στο θέατρο, έχει γράψει και σκηνοθετήσει τα θεατρικά έργα «Yahari Tuhari» και “Πες τα σ’ εμένα” τα οποία ανέβασε με την θεατρική ομάδα «Επιθέσεως».
Έχει επίσης γράψει και σκηνοθετήσει το “Ο καλός Δράκος του Χονγκ Κονγκ” για την Εταιρεία Θεατρικής Ανάπτυξης Λεμεσού, βασισμένο στο έργο του Νίκου Καββαδία. Και τα τρία έργα έχουν συμπεριληφθεί στον on-line κατάλογο του European Theatre Convention των καλύτερων σύγχρονων Ευρωπαϊκων θεατρικών έργων. Για την ΕΘΑΛ έχει σκηνοθετήσει επίσης άλλα πέντε έργα, μεταξύ των οποίων το “Μετά τη Βροχή” του Σέρτζι Μπελμπελ και τη “Χαρούλα” του Χρήστου Ζάνου, καθώς και ένα θεατρικό αναλόγιο βασισμένο στη νουβέλα του Στρατή Τσίρκα “Νουρεντίν Μπόμπα”. Η πιο πρόσφατη σκηνοθετική του δουλειά στο θέατρο είναι “Τα ψέμματα που λένε πάντα την αλήθεια” στον ΘΟΚ βασισμένο σε ποίηση Κυπρίων ποιητών του 20ου και 21ου αιώνα.
Συνεργάστηκε επίσης ως σκηνοθέτης με τη Θεατρική Πορεία Λεμεσού σκηνοθετώντας ανάμεσα σ’ άλλα τα έργα “Καλιφόρνια Ντρήμιν” του Β. Κατσικονούρη, “Οι Φυσικοί” του Φ. Ντίρενμαντ, “Εσωτερικαί Ειδήσεις” του Μ. Πόντικα, “Ο κήπος με τα χελιδόνια” του Μπάμπη Τσικληρόπουλου κ.α..
Έχει εργαστεί στην τηλεόραση ως σκηνοθέτης, συγγραφέας και παραγωγός και διδάσκει κινηματογραφικό σενάριο και κινηματογράφο στο Εργαστήρι Κινηματογραφικού Σεναρίου που ίδρυσε ο ιδιος.
Adonis Florides
Film and theatre director, screenplay writer and playwright. He lives and works in Limassol and has written and co-directed the films «Kalabush» and «Espresso» which have won various awards and distinctions in film festivals around the world. He has also directed a number of documentaries.
He has written and directed the plays «Yahari Tuhari» (for Hari’s Sake) and «Pesta se Mena» (Tell me) in collaboration with «Epitheseos» Τheatre Company. His has also written and directed “The Good Dragon of Hong Kong”, based on the work of the Greek poet Nikos Kavvadias for the Limassol based ‘Company of Theatrical Development’ (ETHAL). All three plays were selected for the on-line catalogue of the European Theatre Convention. His latest work as a director/dramaturgist is the play “The lies which always tell the truth” for the Cyprus Theatre Organisation. He has also directed more than ten other plays from the Greek and International repertoire.
He has worked as a TV director, writer and producer and currently teaches screenplay at the Screenplay Workshop.
Κώστας Κωνσταντινίδης, Ακαδημαϊκός
Ο Δρ. Κώστας Κωνσταντινίδης είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγητής Κινηματογραφικών Σπουδών στο Τμήμα Επικοινωνίας του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσίας. Κατέχει Μεταπτυχιακό και Διδακτορικό τίτλο από το University of Reading, UK (MA Film and Theatre Studies, 2003, Ph.D Film Studies, 2007) και πτυχιακό τίτλο στις Αγγλικές Σπουδές από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (2002). Δίδαξε Κινηματογραφικές Σπουδές στο Τμήμα Κινηματογράφου, Θεάτρου και Τηλεόρασης του University of Reading και είναι συγγραφέας του βιβλίου From Film Adaptation to Post-celluloid Adaptation: Rethinking the Transition of Popular Narratives and Characters across Old and New Media (New York/London: Continuum, 2010). Αυτή την περίοδο συνεπιμελείται (με τον Γιάννη Παπαδάκη) τη συγγραφή συλλογικού τόμου με τίτλο Cypriot Cinemas: Memory, Conflict and Identity in the Margins of Europe (New York/London: Bloomsbury Academic, υπό έκδοση).
Costas Constandinides, Film Scholar
Dr. Costas Constandinides is Assistant Prof. of Film Studies in the Department of Communications at The University of Nicosia, Cyprus. He holds a postgraduate degree and a doctorate degree from the University of Reading, UK (MA Film and Theatre Studies, 2003; Ph.D Film Adaptation, 2007) and an undergraduate degree from the University of Cyprus (BA in English Studies, 2002). He has taught Film Studies in the Department of Film, Theatre and Television of the University of Reading and he is the author of From Film Adaptation to Post-celluloid Adaptation: Rethinking the Transition of Popular Narratives and Characters across Old and New Media (New York/London: Continuum, 2010). He is currently co-editing (with Yiannis Papadakis) a book length project titled Cypriot Cinemas: Memory, Conflict and Identity in the Margins of Europe (New York/London: Bloomsbury Academic, forthcoming).
Κωνσταντίνος Σαρκάς, Δημοσιογράφος
Αποφοίτησε το 2001 από το South Bank University του Λονδίνου με BSc in Media & Society και από το University of Newcastle Upon Tyne το 2002 με MA in Film Studies. Από το 2003 μέχρι το 2005 υπήρξε μόνιμος συντάκτης του περιοδικού Time Out Athens όπου συνεργάστηκε και με την συντακτική ομάδα κινηματογράφου του Ελλαδίτη κριτικού κινηματογράφου Θοδωρή Κουτσογιαννόπουλου. Από το 2005 μέχρι το 2012 ήταν ο κινηματογραφικός συντάκτης του περιοδικού Time Out Cyprus. Παράλληλα συνεργάστηκε με το περιοδικό Madame Figaro και την εφημερίδα City Free Press. Έχει συνεργαστεί επίσης με Βρετανικά έντυπα όπως το κινηματογραφικό περιοδικό Little White Lies και σήμερα είναι ο Events Coordinator του ανεξάρτητου κινηματογράφου και πολιτιστικού πολυχώρου Rich Mix στο Λονδίνο, χώρου προβολών του BFI London Film Festival.
Constantinos Sarkas, Freelance Journalist
After graduating from South Bank University in London in 2001 with a BSc in Media & Society he graduated from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2002 with an MA in Film Studies. From 2003 until 2005 he was a permanent member of the editorial team at Time Out Athens magazine where he also contributed articles to the Film team led by Greek film critic Thodoris Koutsoyianopoulos. From 2005 to 2012 he was the Film Editor at Time Out Cyprus. He also contributed articles to Madame Figaro magazine and City Free Press newspaper and has written for UK film publications including Little White Lies. He is the Events Coordinator at London independent cinema and arts centre Rich Mix which annually hosts screenings for the BFI London Film Festival.
