Abdallah, an Arab Muslim civil engineer married to Greek Cypriot Irene, has to come to terms with his own responsibility in the collapse of a building in an Arab refugee settlement, which caused the death of seven people. Having been radicalized, Iman and Leila, two young Europeans of Arab origin, are sent to Cyprus, with a secret mission. Michelle, a lonely 17-year-old girl, falls for Angelos, a handsome, domineering young man. Ultimately, the three stories will overlap in an unexpected way.

A man and a woman, Aris and Anna, meet in a dream-like coastal town. The town is full of antennas, which emit the voices of the Vanished Ones, inhabitants of the town that have suddenly and inexplicably disappeared. As we watch the daily life and the bizarre rituals of the inhabitants, rituals devoted to the lost ones, Anna and Aris fall in love. A few days later, Anna suddenly disappears.

Despite the insistence of her partner, Jorge, she refuses to continue her treatment and decides to return to Vieques, the small Caribbean island east of Puerto Rico where she grew up and where her mother, Flora, lives. Once there, she keeps her cancer a secret in order to live freely and throws herself into the work she had dedicated herself to years before: denouncing pollution left by the U.S. military after 60 years of military exercises on the island.
