Glocal Images International Competition Section

The artistic committee, selects international and national films with an emphasis on those films originating from neighbouring continents of Cyprus, which promote cinema as an art form as well as a tool for intercultural dialogue. Moreover, Glocal Images seeks to attract films highlighting stories specific to their country of origin, which at the same time reflect quality synergies between smaller film producing countries.

Past members of the international competition section jury include Abel Ferrara, Ralitza Petrova, Elina Psykou, Phil Méheux, Jo Katsaras, Kristi Zea, Elma Tataragic, Vangelis Mourikis, Cătălin Mitulescu, Vicky Krieps, Marion Döring, Martin Schweighofer, Mania Akbari, Katriel Schory, Yiannis Economides, Rossitsa Valkanova, Arta Dobroshi, Thanassis Karathanos.

The Awards:
Glocal Images Best Film Award: This Award is accompanied by the amount of €6,000 which is paid in half (ex aequo) to the Producer €3,000  and the Director of the film €3,000.
Past winners of the Best Film Award include I am Not a Witch, Three Windows and a Hanging, Stratos, Night of Silence

Glocal Images Special Jury Award: This award is accompanied by the amount of €3,000 which is paid in half (ex aequo) to the Producer (€1500 euros) and the Director of the film €1500.
Past winners of the Special Jury Award Include Too Much Info Clouding over my Head, Indivisible, Let them Come, Funeral at Noon, Loverboy, Tuesday after Christmas

Glocal Images Best Director Award: (Previously known as Glocal Images Award): This award is accompanied by the amount of €1,000 which is paid to the Director of the film.

Best Cinematography Award:  This award is accompanied by the amount of €500 offered by Caretta Films
